A century of faith & community
Union was founded in 1915, 50 years after the end of the Civil War. Although the Emancipation Proclamation was signed in 1863, slavery did not end until the end of the war in 1865.
Therefore, the Founders of this church were just barely free

Our entire existence at Union Missionary Baptist Church is guided by a simple yet profound mission: to love God with all our heart, soul, strength, and mind, and to love others as we love ourselves (Luke 10:27). We gather as a body of Christ to receive strength and inspiration, then go forth into our neighborhoods and the wider world, sharing the transformative love of Christ and witnessing a city changed by the gospel.
Spiritual growth and community outreach
Union Missionary Baptist Church provides a place of worship where individuals can seek God, grow spiritually, and be equipped for the work of the ministry (Ephesians 4:11-12). Our objective is to reach the local community and the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, blending traditional values with contemporary outreach. We focus on community impact, expanding ministry efforts, and revitalizing youth programs to connect with every generation.
