Join our family in faith and service

At Union Missionary Baptist Church Port Richey FL, our ministries and auxiliaries are the heartbeat of our community. They are where we connect, grow, and serve together, living by choice, not by chance. Explore the many ways you can contribute your gifts, strengthen your faith, and make a tangible difference in the lives of others.

Our ministries in action

We offer a diverse range of ministries and groups, each playing a vital role in fulfilling our church's mission. From welcoming new faces to nurturing spiritual growth, there’s a place for everyone to belong and serve.

Greeters ministry

We are developing a team of greeters so that when a visitor or member enters the doors of the church, a greeter is waiting to provide a warm and genuine welcome. Greeters serve on the frontlines of the church’s hospitality ministry and provide a positive first impression for guests and a “glad to see you again” feeling for regular attendees of the church. Greeters have a key role in setting the tone for the experience many people have at the church. When newcomers enter the church doors and only see a crowd, greeters can make the church feel warm and personal. We invite you to become a part of our greeters’ team.

Make a lasting impact

Choosing to get involved with one of our ministries offers immense positive impact, not just for the community, but for you personally. You'll deepen your faith, forge meaningful connections, develop new skills, and experience the joy of contributing to something greater than yourself. Our ministries provide a unique opportunity for spiritual growth, fellowship, and service, helping you live a life of purpose.

Nurturing our community

Our ministries are dedicated to fostering a welcoming and supportive environment for everyone. The Hospitality Ministry (Leader: Sister Theresa Saulter) prepares and serves guests and leaders, demonstrating God's love through kindness. The Assimilation Ministry (Leaders: Pastor Phillip/Sister Cherie Butts) helps new disciples gain a sense of belonging and get connected to the Body of Christ. The Stewardship Ministry (Leader: Sister Janette Cobb) oversees and manages the resources God has entrusted to our care, including tithes, offerings, buildings, and equipment.

We also offer specialized support through GriefShare (Leader: Minister Phyllis Lambert, meeting weekly Tuesdays @6:30pm (Sep-Dec/ Jan-March)), a safe space for those coping with loss, and Marriage for Life (Leaders: Pastor Phillip & Sister Judith), which strengthens marriages through biblically based teaching and resources. For couples considering marriage or looking to enrich their relationship, Prepare/Enrich (Leader: Pastor Phillip) offers insightful assessments and feedback to build stronger foundations.

Educating and empowering

We believe in lifelong learning and empowering all ages to grow in faith and knowledge. The Student Ministry (Leaders: Rev. Adrian Massenburg/Sister Nicole Bernard/Sister Jeanine Garran) leads students to where God wants them to be, exploring faith and service. Through Christian Education (Leader: Min. Stanley Butts), we teach the message of Jesus Christ via Bible Study, ministry, outreach, and fellowship for all age groups. The Barbara Winthrop Scholarship (Leader: Sister Joan Dennis) supports eligible high school graduates in their educational journey.

Our commitment extends to outreach and specialized groups: The Evangelism Ministry (Leader: Rev Hershal Lane, Outreach Emeritus - Vacant) shares the message of Jesus Christ, impacting lives beyond our walls. The Women’s Ministry - “Transforming Lives of Women Together” (Leader: Sister Cherie Butts, meeting every other month starting on January 3rd Saturday 10:00 am) disciples women to follow Christ and minister to others. The Mighty Men of Valor (Leader: Rev. Alan Brown, meeting every other month starting on January 3rd Saturday 10:00am) connects men to God, His Word, and each other for growth in Christ. The Media Team (Leader: Brother Malik Williams) utilizes technology to support all ministries with sound, video, and online streaming. The Pastor’s Aide Ministry (Leader: Sis. Joan Dennis) provides support to the Pastor and his family. The Church Clerk position is currently vacant, but responsible for maintaining thorough church records.
